A Pitbull’s Prayer
Spirit in the sky, who watches over all animals: it is my prayer and my request that you grant greater understanding, and acceptance to humans; those who love us, and those who hate us.
That they will know how loyal we are, how brave we are, and how loving we are. Help them to accept us as a breed in whole and not let the few tragedies shine brighter then the many great traits that we have.
And those who would kill me, let them know, I forgive them even though I don’t understand their hatred. And those who would beat me, let them know I still love them, even though it is not the honorable way (to treat me).
Thank you for all the strong traits that you have given to me and my breed. Help those to know that I stand for courage, strength, loyalty, and bravery, and as my master already knows, let those who would come against my family know that I would surrely die defending them.
And just one thing that I would ask: let my master know, that if you should call me away, that I will wait patiently at those pearly gates until the one who chose me comes home.

thats so true people need to do ther research all dogs can attack or bit its the owner and how they are train, dont trea us any different. please save this breed so we can be loved again, i have my 4 yr old white female pit and she is a baby.
I want to thank you for posting this, today is a very difficult day, my loyal very special pit passed away today at the age of 16, she was the most precious dog in the world, I rescued her at the age of one and have never regreated bringing her home, while having her she became the adopted mom to my chihuahua and my three cats and today there is a major hole in my heart my Pebblezz was one of a kind. I wish people would give pits a chance because they are the most loyal loving dogs in the world. They just need love.
I just recently got this dog,and before I took this dog. I told this dog that we would be together until I left this earth or she did. I turly mean this. I love my new baby with all my heart. Its was her or a gun.. I took he.

On Janruary 5th 2010 I lost my boy STRIKER (pit bull)he was 10. I had him his whole life.He died of conjestive heart failure do to the negilgent of the precieding vet. He was the most unique, personiable,smart. and lovable dog i had ever had. I cry every day cause I miss him so much.In his last days and hours iI told him it was ok to go, but I want you to be sitting pretty at the pearly gates for mommy when she comes to be with you in heaven, and I love you my little BO-Bo. He opened is eyes and looked at me wagged his tail and went to wait for me in heaven. He knew english very well and understood everything I said to him. I miss him so much.
OMG – Now I am crying… How BEAUTIFUL! I would love to adobt one today especially the black with white on his chest. He and my lab would be twins!!!!! I have always wanted twin boys.
so so true she is my service animal she takes care of me and i take care of her. i want her to live as long as she can, i do all the proper measurements to kep her healthy so far so good

people think pitbulls are mean but they realy are not mean they defend you and love like any kid . people think pitbulls can attack you but its the way you treat them. if you treat them bad of course they have to proctet them selfs so people that dont like them they can still say there mean but they are better to love and to care so people hatred can still go on .
My husband and I are Detroit Firefighters. My husband found our pit bull Sadie in a fire in a vacant dwelling where someone left her to die. Above all the noise and chaos that a fire scene has, he heard her whimpers. She was about 8 wks. old, only 4 lbs, full of worms, burned, starving, frail, and scared. When I saw her at the firehouse, I fell in love with her immediately. I looked into her gold-green eyes and kissed her tiny red nose and knew she was coming home with us. That was August of 2009, and now she is a 50 lb love monger who loves walking with us in the park, sneaking (yes, sneaking) up the stairs to play with our combined 6 kids, kissing toes, following my every move, belly rubs, hugs and kisses and taking “firefighter” naps after our long 24 hour days at work with us in bed. She’s the best dog I could have ever hoped to love and she is such a blessing to us. People need to wake up and realize that pit bulls are no different than the $1000 froo-froo purse-sized ankle-biter yip yip dogs they put sweaters on. This poem was beautiful and I appreciated it. Sadie did too since it earned her an extra biscuit. Thank you.
BEAUTIFUL
I just brought home my fourth pitbull of my life, Jax. I rescued him and at 14 weeks he is the best behaved most well mannered dog everywhere we go. It is so wrong that people judge before they know. It’s literaly dog racism and it’s getting to the point they are passing Breed Ban Laws W/O a grandfather clause (look it up). I knew there was a serious problem when I was reading the paper in my home town of Franklin,TN. and on the fifth page there was a small article about an adult Akita that attacked a person and they had to get plastic surgery, and the person it attacked was it’s owner, IT’S OWNER! a Pitbull/ AmStaff would literally die before it ever turned on their owner and would DEFINITELY make national news for any attack period. I don’t understand peoples thought process and it’s sad…

this poem is great I recently brought a female pitbull home she is so apparently viscous that we named her lilly hugs. She is adorable and sweet and brings great pride to the pitbull name.

that was happy and sad. my cozin has a pit and boxer mix. she is a very wonderful dog. DONT HATE PITBULLS because ever one says if you want one get one no ones stopping you. pitbulls are loving dogs when i move out of my parents house im getting a pitbull out of an animal shelter instead of buying one at the pet store. the poem was great. I LOVED IT! no one shouldn’t stop you for getting one the are loving and wonderful dogs.

this is the most beautiful poem i’ve ever read and it made me cry i think its really sad how people treat and think about them in a bad way its how the way you treat the dog that affects how it will act towards people and maybe yourself they can be loving animals they would take care of you and play with you although they can look scary and can grow really big i would love to have a dog like this beautiful poem though it really touched my heart and its making me want to do something about these people who kill them and hit them
